Volunteer at the Farm
Volunteers are an important part of Rhubarb Farm. By giving your time, you can help us maintain our growing spaces, support our programmes, and make a positive difference to people’s lives.
Whether you’re looking to share existing skills, gain new experience, spend more time outdoors, or support a local charity, we’d love to hear from you. Some roles require specific skills, while others simply need enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to get involved.
Volunteering Roles

Volunteer Gardener
4 Places Available
Horticulture is at the heart of Rhubarb Farm. It helps define who we are and provides many of the therapeutic activities that support the people who attend our programmes.
We grow a wide variety of vegetables, fruit, flowers, and herbs across our 2-acre site, but keeping on top of the day-to-day work is always a challenge. We’re looking for volunteers to help care for our polytunnels, growing areas, and outdoor spaces.
Working under the guidance of our Lead Grower, you’ll be part of the team responsible for maintaining and developing the Farm’s productive growing spaces while supporting our wider work.

Skills we’re looking for
Previous gardening experience is ideal but not essential. We’re looking for people who can offer anything from a couple of hours each week upwards on a regular basis.

A standard DBS check is required for this role. Rhubarb Farm will arrange and pay for the check.
What you’ll gain
In return, you’ll become part of a supportive team and enjoy working in a unique environment alongside a wide variety of people. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from our experienced Lead Grower, develop practical horticultural skills, and help make a real difference.
And yes, you’ll get to enjoy some of our wonderful produce, too.

Volunteer Driver
Volunteer Drivers play a vital role in helping Team Members access their placements and support programmes.
