School placements

Rhubarb Farm is in partnership with 6 secondary schools in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.  We take school children who have difficulties with their behaviour, find school life difficult and/or are in danger of expulsion from school.  They come for a maximum of 2 days per week on negotiated placement on a 1 to 1, 1 to 2, or 1 to 3 ratio.

Rhubarb Farm employs a Youth Worker, runs Forest School activities and walks, woodworking, craft and poultry care opportunities to engage the young people.  We have been very successful in helping all the young people who come to the Farm to develop awareness and strategies for managing their behaviour and special needs.  In many cases we have inspired them to pursue career options that they had never thought of before coming to the Farm.
